Abstract

The establishment location is the place where the procurement, production, storage and sales distribution processes of the enterprises are carried out and where they will reach their goals in the easiest way. It is one of the costly and important decisions that strategically affect competition and efficiency. In this decision, which has been evaluated as the “living space” in recent years, numerical methods are used. Multi-criteria decision-making techniques, which have made significant improvements in this regard, are supported by scientific support. In this study, it is aimed to determine the most suitable place for the enterprise by SWARA method, one of the multi-criteria decision-making techniques. The research was carried out in a textile production enterprise located in Istanbul between 10.03.2024-10.04.2024. As a participant, a face-to-face meeting was provided with 5 people, including the business owner, manager, department managers. 8 Criteria affecting the choice of establishment location have been determined. The final weights of criteria such as ”Land Cost, Transportation Cost, Proximity to Suppliers, Proximity to Transportation Opportunities, Infrastructure Opportunities, Government Incentives, Labor Availability, Environmental Sustainability" have been found. As a result, Labor Availability (0.61) was determined as the most prominent criterion. Other criteria, according to their weights, Land Cost (0.27), Government Incentives (0.22), Infrastructure Facilities (0.15), Transportation Cost (0.14), Proximity to Suppliers (0.10), Proximity to Transportation Facilities (0.09), Environmental Sustainability (0.07) criteria are listed.
