Abstract

The fact that there is no representation between men and women in proportion to the population in terms of participation in the city administration is evaluated within the framework of human rights violations. In addition, it is a very important issue in terms of democracy culture, which is also seen as effective for the development level of countries. In this research, which was carried out based on the idea that the sense of belonging to the city they live in has a very effective importance for the participation of the people of the city in the administration, it was tried to determine the situation with a survey study conducted with women who participated in the administrative level. The aim of this study is to analyze whether the sense of belonging to urban spaces in the selected cities as a sample is effective in women's participation in the city administration. The field research of the study was carried out in the selected provinces of Bolu, Zonguldak and Sinop in the Western Black Sea Region, and the findings showed that the sense of ownership of female administrators towards the cities they lived in was quite high in all cities. This result shows that some features of cities (socio-economic development level, social culture of the city) and some features of women (socio-economic level, life time spent in the city, administrative duty and level, effective social-political life) It has created an impetus to try to be associated with the sense of belonging felt towards people. According to the results of the analysis made to get answers to these questions, it has been revealed that while the socio-economic development level of the cities is thought to be effective in being included in the city administration, it does not make a difference in the ownership of the city.
