Abstract

Higher education institutions have been under pressure in recent years due to the increasing number of students enrolling, lack of funding, poor graduate quality and the increased competition among universities. Many colleges and universities are reviewing their approach to serving students and are looking for ways to improve their improvement processes. This is in hopes of creating a more efficient and high-quality educational system for students. Higher education institutions are using total quality management (TQM) processes to improve the quality of services and administrative procedures. This study looked at whether instituting total quality practices (TQP) has an impact on institutional performance in higher education institutions. To evaluate the institutional performance in terms of TQM components, a survey was conducted at a public university. Based on the results of the analysis, it was noticed that there is a positive relationship between all the critical components of TQM (leadership, vision, measurement and evaluation, control and improvement of processes, product development).programs, employee engagement, recognition and rewards, education and training, targeting students and other partners) and corporate performance. The results of the regression analysis showed that the criteria related to vision and education had a stronger correlation with institutional performance.
