DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN COOPERATIVES AND ITS EFFECTS ON BUSINESS PROCESSES OF COOPERATIVE EMPLOYEES: A STUDY ON ÇUKOBIRLIK

Abstract

Digital transformation, which has come to the forefront with the advantages that digital technologies have added to our lives in recent years with the developing technology, has affected many sectors and businesses. The phenomenon of digitalization leads to disruptive changes in business processes and organizational structures, but also affects the way things are implemented. It is thought that the aim of the enterprises with digital transformation is to provide competitive advantage in the market and to develop new business models and business processes in accordance with the conditions. Today, traditional business models remain threatened by innovative business models. For this reason, businesses are trying to adapt to the digitalization process rapidly in our country and in the world. In addition to the enterprises that have completed the digitalization stage in our country, there are also enterprises that have not yet completed this stage. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the perception of digital transformation in cooperatives that are in the stage of digitalization and this perception in terms of the business processes of the employees. The aim of the study is to examine what the expectations are in cooperatives with digitalization, to improve the digital transformation and the level of perception it creates in cooperatives, to develop the perception of digital transformation in cooperatives and to create awareness. In the field research, the reflections of digital transformation in many sectors in Turkey were studied, but digitalization in cooperatives and

employees' views on business processes were not examined. For this reason, the main problem of our study is how digital transformation and its impact are in cooperatives. The universe of the research consists of Cukobirlik operating in 10 provinces with 36 cooperatives and 2 factories. The research sample consists of 36 cooperatives affiliated to Cukobirlik. In the study, the preferred digital transformation scale, workflow scale and job identification scale and likert type expressions consisting of 35 expressions in total were used as a means of data collection. In the study, quantitative research approach was applied to the data obtained first and survey method was used in the process of obtaining the data. In the study, descriptive method approach, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in order to determine the situation and reveal the results. Within the scope of the research, it was examined what the expectations are in the cooperatives with digitalization and it was aimed to prepare the ground for future studies on the subject. Digital transformation and the level of perception it creates in cooperatives and employees' business processes were determined and attention was drawn to the development of digital transformation perception and awareness.
