Aim and Scope
Aim
AXIS World is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal that aims to promote innovative, applied, and interdisciplinary research in the social sciences. The journal supports the dissemination of scholarly knowledge by publishing contemporary studies particularly in economics, sport sciences, educational sciences, behavioral social sciences, and political science.
Scope
AXIS focuses on empirical analyses related to economic behavior, sport management, performance economics, behavioral finance, innovative approaches in education, sustainable development, digitalization, and human behavior at individual, institutional, and societal levels. With its interdisciplinary structure, the journal welcomes contributions from economics, agricultural economics, business, sport sciences, psychology, sociology, education, public administration, political science, and international relations. In addition to these core areas, innovative studies offering contributions to the international literature are also considered for review.
ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PUBLICATION ETHICS STATEMENT
AXIS World: Journal of Applied Cross-disciplinary Insights is a peer-reviewed journal published in accordance with national and international ethical standards. Throughout the publication process, the journal adheres to the principles of Publication Ethics and follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), and TR Index Ethical Criteria.
General Principles
- All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process.
- Submitted studies are evaluated for originality, scientific contribution, and ethical compliance.
- Authors must avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and salami slicing.
- All manuscripts are screened for similarity using iThenticate or equivalent software.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Manuscripts must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
- For studies involving human participants, compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki (1975, revised 2013) must be explicitly stated.
- For animal research, compliance with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (National Research Council, 2011) and national regulations is required.
- Ethical approval and informed consent documents must be provided during submission when applicable.
- Authors are encouraged to share datasets, codes, or materials in open-access repositories to enhance scientific transparency.
- Authorship order must reflect each contributor’s academic involvement.
- Authors must declare all potential conflicts of interest.
- All revisions requested by reviewers or editors must be addressed carefully.
Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers
- Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance.
- Reviewers conduct assessments objectively and confidentially.
- The peer-review process is confidential; reviewer and author identities are not disclosed.
Publisher Responsibilities
- AXIS World adheres to principles of neutrality, transparency, and scientific integrity.
- All content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.
- The publication process is currently free of charge.
- If article processing charges (APCs) are introduced in the future, this will be announced transparently on the website.
- Fee policies do not influence editorial decisions.
- The journal supports open science and encourages secure archiving and sharing of research data.
- SUBMISSION AND INITIAL SCREENING
- Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system.
- Initial screening is conducted by the Editor or Field Editor.
- At this stage, compliance with the journal’s aims, formatting rules, ethical approvals, and similarity reports is checked.
- Manuscripts with similarity rates above 20% or lacking ethical statements are not sent for review.
- REVIEWER ASSIGNMENT PROCESS
- Manuscripts that pass the initial check are assigned to at least two independent reviewers.
- Reviewer identities are concealed from authors, and vice versa (double-blind).
- A third reviewer may be assigned if needed.
- Reviewers are given 15–30 days, extendable with editor approval.
- EVALUATION CRITERIA
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and contribution to the literature
- Clarity of theoretical framework
- Methodological appropriateness and quality of data analysis
- Interpretation of findings
- Writing quality and adherence to referencing guidelines
- Ethical compliance
- REVIEW DECISIONS
Based on reviewer reports, the editor may decide:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors must revise their manuscript according to reviewer recommendations within the specified timeframe. Revisions are evaluated by reviewers or editors before a final decision is made. Accepted manuscripts undergo language editing, layout, and DOI assignment.

- Initial screening: 1–2 weeks
- Reviewer evaluation: 4–6 weeks
- Revision period: 2–3 weeks
- Average completion time: 8–10 weeks
- APPEALS AND RE-EVALUATION
- Authors may appeal reviewer or editor decisions by submitting a scientifically justified statement.
- Appeals are evaluated by the editor, and if necessary, the Editorial Advisory Board.
- Final editorial decisions after appeals are binding.
- TRANSPARENCY AND ETHICAL ASSURANCE
- The review process is confidential; identities are never disclosed.
- All evaluations are based on scientific merit and quality.
- Editors ensure transparency, impartiality, and timely communication throughout the process.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The journal accepts manuscripts in Turkish and English.
- All manuscripts must include an English abstract.
- Turkish manuscripts must include abstracts in both Turkish and English.
- Only Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files are accepted.
- Submissions must be made via the online system.
- Authors must upload ethical approval documents (when required) and similarity reports.

- Title: Maximum 12 words
- Author information: name, affiliation, email, ORCID
- Abstracts (150–250 words)
- Keywords: 3–5, in both languages for Turkish papers

- Numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)

ETHICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ethical approval must be obtained for studies with human or animal subjects.
- Compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki must be stated.
- Ethical approval must include institution name, date, and approval number.
SUBMISSION FILES
Authors must upload:
- Main manuscript (anonymous)
- Title page (author information, ORCID, correspondence details)
- Ethics approval (if required)

LANGUAGE EDITING
- Authors are responsible for language accuracy.
- The editor may request additional language editing.
- All manuscripts must include an English title and abstract.
